My approach

I am trained using an integrative theoretical model when working with clients, but more importantly I like to describe my approach as friendly, respectful and considerate.

In therapy, human connection is the most important thing.

friendly considerate respectful

Having therapy with me at my home-based practice consists of an hour-long session each week where I will listen closely to what you want to say, and what you need me to hear. We'll work together in an open and relaxed conversational way, to help you find your own path and solutions to what's troubling you.

As our conversations evolve, we will be able to unpick unhelpful behaviours, belief systems, ideas and assumptions that you might have about yourself.

This will help you find a different way of being in relationship to both yourself and others.  I am not going to advise you or tell you what to do - my role is to support and encourage you to self-discover, self-develop and self-manage.

If you think you would enjoy conversations that explore ideas using symbolic thinking, representation, metaphors and analogies, then psychotherapeutic counselling is for you.
